Neither is proven to work better: no trial has compared Foundayo (orforglipron) with the Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide 25 mg) directly, though the Wegovy pill's own trial reported the larger average. Average weight change was −13.6% at 64 weeks on the Wegovy pill (OASIS 4) and −11.2% at 72 weeks on the highest dose of Foundayo tested (ATTAIN-1). Neither is registered in Singapore. Individual results vary.
Retatrutide and orforglipron are not registered in Singapore, and GetLean does not prescribe or supply them. GetLean does prescribe and supply HSA-registered GLP-1 medications, after a consultation with Dr Quek. Those include the weekly injections Mounjaro and Wegovy, and a daily tablet, Rybelsus, which is registered here for type 2 diabetes, so for weight it is off-label and Dr Quek's decision at your consultation.
For orforglipron (Foundayo) and the 25 mg semaglutide tablet (the Wegovy pill), approved abroad:
Availability in Singapore. This medicine is not available in Singapore. It is not registered with the Health Sciences Authority, so no doctor here can prescribe it and there is no legitimate local supply. Anything offered under this name in Singapore is coming from outside the regulated system, and what that actually means is set out here.
Semaglutide, the medicine in the Wegovy pill, is registered here as a weekly injection for weight management, sold as Wegovy, and as a daily tablet of up to 14 mg for type 2 diabetes, sold as Rybelsus (Singapore NDF; Singapore NDF). No orforglipron product is registered here (HSA register).
Education only. What this page says about orforglipron and the 25 mg semaglutide tablet is general education about medicines not registered in Singapore, not an advertisement or an offer for them. GetLean does not prescribe or supply either, and nothing here recommends using them.
Has any trial compared Foundayo with the Wegovy pill directly?
No. A search of ClinicalTrials.gov on 25 October 2026 for studies naming both orforglipron and semaglutide returned three, and none of them compares orforglipron with the 25 mg semaglutide tablet (ClinicalTrials.gov); a PubMed search the same day found no published trial of the two against each other. A 2026 indirect comparison of the two describes its own findings as coming "in the absence of head-to-head clinical trials" (Michalak 2026).
So every answer to "which works better" rests on separate trials or on statistical comparisons across them. Each is set out below, with what it can and cannot show.
What did each tablet's main trial find?
The Wegovy pill averaged −13.6% at 64 weeks in OASIS 4, and orforglipron −11.2% at 72 weeks on its highest dose in ATTAIN-1, each tested against placebo in adults without diabetes.
| ATTAIN-1 (orforglipron, Foundayo) | OASIS 4 (oral semaglutide 25 mg, the Wegovy pill) | |
|---|---|---|
| Who took part | 3,127 adults with obesity, without diabetes | 307 adults with obesity, or overweight with at least one obesity-related complication, without diabetes |
| Length | 72 weeks | 64 weeks to the main result |
| Daily doses | 6 mg, 12 mg, 36 mg (a trial formulation) | 25 mg |
| How the result was counted | Everyone randomised (treatment-regimen estimand) | All randomised participants (intention to treat) |
| Average weight change | −7.5%, −8.4%, −11.2% | −13.6% |
| Placebo | −2.1% | −2.2% (the US label's analysis gives −2.4%) |
| Stopped because of side effects | 5.3% to 10.3%, against 2.7% on placebo | 6.9%, against 5.9% on placebo (US label) |
| Funded by | Eli Lilly | Novo Nordisk |
ATTAIN-1: Wharton 2025; the US label shows the trial doses as equivalent doses of the marketed tablet, which comes in different strengths (US label). OASIS 4: the weight figures from Wharton 2025; the counting rule, the label's placebo figure and the stopping rate from the US label. Individual results vary and are not guaranteed.
Why the columns are not a ranking. ATTAIN-1 enrolled about ten times as many people as OASIS 4, measured its main result eight weeks later, and tested three doses against one. Setting −13.6% beside −11.2% and reading the gap as the difference between the tablets treats two separate measurements as one.
What does the indirect comparison show?
It favoured the Wegovy pill, and it was funded by the Wegovy pill's maker, Novo Nordisk (Drugs@FDA). A 2026 population-adjusted indirect comparison, using individual data from OASIS 4 and the summary results of ATTAIN-1, estimated 3.2 percentage points more weight loss with oral semaglutide 25 mg than with the highest orforglipron dose in ATTAIN-1, and more stopping because of side effects with orforglipron (odds ratio 4.1). Five of its authors are Novo Nordisk employees, and Novo Nordisk paid for the analysis (Michalak 2026).
A 2026 network meta-analysis in the BMJ, comparing each drug with lifestyle measures alone at one year, estimated −10.9% for oral semaglutide and −9.9% for orforglipron, with moderate to high certainty, and found stopping because of side effects among the highest with both (Nong 2026).
An indirect comparison adjusts for differences between trials as far as the data allow. It does not replace a trial of the two against each other. Individual results vary.
Is Foundayo better than Rybelsus?
In ACHIEVE-3, a trial in adults with type 2 diabetes, orforglipron lowered blood sugar (HbA1c) more than oral semaglutide at 7 mg and 14 mg, the strengths registered here as Rybelsus, and stomach and gut side effects and stopping because of them were higher on orforglipron (Rosenstock 2026). In the results posted to its registry, weight fell by an average of 9.2% on orforglipron 36 mg against 5.3% on oral semaglutide 14 mg, counted only while participants stayed on their assigned tablet (ClinicalTrials.gov). Individual results vary and are not guaranteed.
ACHIEVE-3 was open-label, ran for 52 weeks, and used blood sugar as its main measure, not weight. The rise in pulse rate was also higher on orforglipron (Rosenstock 2026). It did not test the 25 mg tablet, and it did not enrol people without diabetes.
How is each tablet taken?
Foundayo can be taken at any time of day, with no food or water restrictions; the Wegovy pill has to be taken on an empty stomach. Under its UK authorisation, orforglipron is taken once a day, at any time of day, with no food or water restrictions (MHRA), and the US label says with or without food (US label). The semaglutide 25 mg tablet is taken once a day, swallowed whole on an empty stomach after fasting for at least 8 hours, with a sip of water, and nothing to eat or drink for at least 30 minutes afterwards; eating or drinking sooner lowers its absorption (MHRA).
Which has more side effects, Foundayo or the Wegovy pill?
No trial has compared their side effects directly. In ATTAIN-1, the most common side effects of orforglipron were digestive, mostly mild to moderate, and 5.3% to 10.3% stopped because of side effects, against 2.7% on placebo (Wharton 2025). In OASIS 4, digestive side effects affected 74.0% on the 25 mg tablet against 42.2% on placebo (Wharton 2025), and the US label reports 6.9% stopping because of side effects, against 5.9% (US label). The Foundayo side-effects page and the Wegovy pill page cover each in more detail.
Are Foundayo and the Wegovy pill available in Singapore?
No. Retatrutide and orforglipron are not registered in Singapore, and GetLean does not prescribe or supply them. GetLean does prescribe and supply HSA-registered GLP-1 medications, after a consultation with Dr Quek. The 25 mg semaglutide tablet sold abroad as the Wegovy pill is not registered here either.
A full download of Singapore's register of therapeutic products, read on 25 October 2026 (5,511 records, approvals up to 8 July 2026), contains no orforglipron product, and its semaglutide tablets are 3 mg, 7 mg and 14 mg only, sold as Rybelsus (HSA register). HSA's listing of approvals, last updated on 21 October 2026, has no orforglipron product and no semaglutide tablet among approvals to September 2026 (HSA approvals).
Abroad, orforglipron was approved in the United States on 1 April 2026 and in the United Kingdom on 10 August 2026 (Drugs@FDA; MHRA), and the semaglutide tablet for weight management in the United States on 22 December 2025 and the United Kingdom on 11 June 2026 (Drugs@FDA; MHRA). An approval abroad does not register a medicine here; that is a separate decision by the Health Sciences Authority. Foundayo in Singapore and the Wegovy pill in Singapore cover each in more detail.
Which GLP-1 tablet is registered in Singapore?
Oral semaglutide, sold as Rybelsus, at 3 mg, 7 mg and 14 mg, registered for type 2 diabetes only, so prescribing it for weight is off-label (HSA register; Singapore NDF).
Availability in Singapore. This medicine is registered with Singapore's Health Sciences Authority for type 2 diabetes only. It has no registered weight-management indication here, so prescribing it for weight is off-label: a decision only a doctor who has assessed you can make, and one they may decide against. Which medicine suits a particular person, if any does, is decided by the doctor who assesses them.
Its maximum registered daily dose is 14 mg, below the 25 mg of the Wegovy pill (Singapore NDF). Rybelsus in Singapore and GLP-1 without an injection set out what that means.
What does GetLean prescribe, and what does it cost?
At GetLean, Dr Quek prescribes HSA-registered GLP-1 medications after a video consultation, as weekly injections or a daily tablet: the programme is from S$488 a month (S$788 depending on dose, S$1,088 at the max dose) for the Injectable GLP-1 programme and from S$288 a month (S$388 depending on dose) for the Oral GLP-1 programme, with the medication included. Which medicine suits you, if any, is Dr Quek's decision at your consultation.
The first step is a 30-minute video consultation with Dr Quek for S$20, refunded in full if he decides medication is not right for you, and a consultation does not guarantee a prescription.

Foundayo or the Wegovy pill: which works better?
Neither is proven to work better, because no trial has compared them directly.
I'm Dr Quek, a Singapore-registered doctor, and the doctor behind the GetLean GLP-1 Taper Plan.
Retatrutide and orforglipron are not registered in Singapore, and GetLean does not prescribe or supply them.
What did each tablet's trial find?
In Foundayo's main trial, adults without diabetes on the highest dose were down eleven point two percent on average, against two point one on placebo.
In the Wegovy pill's trial, adults without diabetes on the twenty-five milligram tablet were down thirteen point six percent, against two point two on placebo.
That isn't a ranking: the trials differed in size, length and number of doses, and different drug companies paid for them.
What do the statistical comparisons show?
One analysis estimated three point two percentage points more weight loss with the Wegovy pill than with the highest Foundayo dose, and more stopping because of side effects with Foundayo.
It was funded by the Wegovy pill's maker, and an indirect comparison doesn't replace a trial of the two against each other.
Which has more side effects?
No trial has compared their side effects directly. In Foundayo's main trial, the most common side effects were digestive, mostly mild to moderate.
In the Wegovy pill's trial, digestive side effects affected seventy-four in a hundred people, against forty-two on placebo.
How is each tablet taken?
In the UK, Foundayo can be taken at any time of day, with no food or water restrictions.
The Wegovy pill is swallowed whole on an empty stomach, with a sip of water, and then nothing to eat or drink for at least thirty minutes.
Eating or drinking sooner lowers its absorption.
Are they available in Singapore?
The Wegovy pill, the twenty-five milligram semaglutide tablet, isn't registered here either.
Singapore's register has semaglutide tablets only up to fourteen milligrams, sold as Rybelsus.
They're registered for type 2 diabetes only, so prescribing them for weight is off-label.
If you're considering GLP-1 medication to reach your weight goal, and you'd like to taper off it one day, I invite you to visit getleanclinic.sg to learn about our approach and the GetLean GLP-1 Taper Plan.
Common questions
Which works better, Foundayo or the Wegovy pill?
Neither is proven to work better, because no trial has compared them directly. In separate trials, average weight change was −13.6% at 64 weeks on oral semaglutide 25 mg, the Wegovy pill (OASIS 4), and −11.2% at 72 weeks on the highest orforglipron (Foundayo) dose tested (ATTAIN-1). An indirect comparison funded by Novo Nordisk, the Wegovy pill's maker (Drugs@FDA), favoured the Wegovy pill (Michalak 2026). Individual results vary and are not guaranteed.
What are the differences between orforglipron and Wegovy tablets?
They are different medicines, taken differently. Orforglipron is a small-molecule, non-peptide GLP-1 receptor agonist (ATTAIN-1), taken once a day at any time with no food or water restrictions under its UK authorisation (MHRA). The Wegovy tablet is semaglutide, taken on an empty stomach after fasting for at least 8 hours, with a sip of water and nothing to eat or drink for at least 30 minutes afterwards (MHRA). Neither is registered in Singapore.
Are Wegovy pills available in Singapore?
No. The 25 mg semaglutide tablet sold abroad as the Wegovy pill is not registered in Singapore: the semaglutide tablets on the register are 3 mg, 7 mg and 14 mg only, sold as Rybelsus (HSA register), and they are registered for type 2 diabetes only, so prescribing them for weight is off-label (Singapore NDF).
Is Foundayo available in Singapore?
No. Retatrutide and orforglipron are not registered in Singapore, and GetLean does not prescribe or supply them. GetLean does prescribe and supply HSA-registered GLP-1 medications, after a consultation with Dr Quek. Orforglipron, sold abroad as Foundayo, is approved in the United States and the United Kingdom (Drugs@FDA; MHRA), but no orforglipron product is on Singapore's register (HSA register).
